Gutting DO |

The rules say you can't gut your wheel housing area. Half the pics on the SD website show half fender's and hardley no wheel wells. How close do they
look @ this or do they really care? I'm wanting to build a chevy and god know's they are heavy as he!!

Don't gut to much. I had to add over 200 pounds and that was with a 22 gallon fuel cell to meet the weight limit.

Weight aside, this is one of those Military Questions: Don't ask. Don't tell. lol
The correct answer is, Yes and No. Yes it is being done. No, they have never said you can do it. Which brings us to the Drome-Nike Logic......if you are wondering if something is legal, i.e., it's in the gray area of the rules, if you ASK the answer is always NO. If you see it on another car or want to try your luck "Just Do It". One other note: if you see something on other cars and point it out "so they will let you do it too", they will simply make all the other cars change it. Not exactly the quickest way to make friends on the Track.... |
