I would rec. to the drome not to put the speed bumps back in , i would make it all race track then start the grass right next to it , so when the guys that hug
the bottom that like running in the bumps hits the grass and it gets a little slick.and it would be cheeper to plant more grass

I think instead of speed bumps, they should asphalt to the grass and add a curb on the edge... That would give us more racing surface and keep everyone out of
the grass. You also wouldn't have to have the yuke tires and they don't look good on TV. With the addition of the speed bumps, you are taking away half
of the racing groove for the figure 8. We run through the bumps on entry and exit...Now when you enter the corner on the outside of someone, you will already
be in the cheap seats! lol

Heard a couple rumors this weekend.....they are probably both true....lol
Salem is adding an Oval/F8 short track inside their 1/2 mile oval. It's either 1/4 mile or 3/8 depending on who is telling the story. Sportsdrome is going to have a WF8T Race this season. |

Supposedly, they showed a simulated version of the salem figure 8 at their banquet saturday night. I hope they allow the extreme cars to run there and only run
a few times a year.

I have heard from several different sources over the past couple of years that they were going to totally makeover Salem Speedway, supposedly buying the property around it and putting in a NHRA certified drag strip and a 1/4 to 3/8 mile dirt track, plus resurface the existing half mile. |

I think they should leave the grass out completely!!! Could u imagine the excitmemnt dromer 8 would bring with all those cars and room to maneuver? Crik would
make it really entertaining than!
As far as salem IF they are puttong a figure 8 track in its just because there trying to draw in some new fans which that track desperately needs! I don't wanna watch 6 cars chase the same guy everyweek. |

I heard a 3/8 mile dirt track inside the original (repaved) 1/2 mile. Then a 1/4 mile asphalt figure 8 inside the dirt track.
