Before you post your negative comment.....just THINK

Today's Invitation is for Open Discussion and Opinions (positive and negative) from
EVERYONE Regarding Track Resurfacing. All comments will be treated with respect as long as they are posted respectfully. Anotherwords, I won't
debate your negative comments.....much. lol
Below are a few questions to get your ideas flowing........ What do you guys think it will do for the racing overall? Will it even up the Drivers with experience and rookies? Will there be an outside groove? Will all the track records be broken? How will this effect car set up? None? All? Tire pressure only? Will it cut back the number of new tires you must purchase due to them being worn out on the old rough surface? Is it possible older tires with more laps will be better than new sticker tires? __________________________________________________________ Regarding the Rules Questions & Chat: Unless there is a drastic change of opinion Dromers are most likely running the Hoosier recap tested on Fun Night. To answer the question about takeoffs: The reason they are not considering the Goodyear (Xtreme) tire is due to the fact we won't have enough new tires for all divisions all season (not enough casings -- which is also the reason Dromers have to change tires this season -- there are no longer enough DOT casings available). Street tires will still be optional for Dromers. Regarding the aftermarket Dromer Heads.....no change. YET. There are several ideas being discussed and any (or all) may (or may not) be written. Bottomline is they haven't decided. 27, I didn't forget your well-thought out suggestions for rule changes. In fact, I have mentioned them to many Drivers as well as the Track. I'm still talking about ALL of them but honestly there is only one that I have any hope of passing.....maybe.

8boy, were you involved in the rescue on 111 last night? Were 2 children really not in car seats and thrown from the vehicle? My friend was stuck at the boat due to the road being shut down and she had to go some crazy way home through Georgetown. |

I am really really pushing for the guardrail to be painted bright
white before it is reinstalled. The barrels are already being painted. The idea of that old gray guardrail in photos, on TV, and live along side a new track
surface is disgusting...at least it is to me! Before you suggest concrete walls, forget it. Jake feels that the guardrail is much more forgiving and has
saved many Drivers from serious injury in the past.

Yeah Sportsdrome, kudos on the repaving!
Hopefully this will help a ton on tires and water in the turns! I do think this will change set up for most. It will start everyone on a level playing field at the beginning of the season trying to figure out what works best. Doesn't necessarily help the rookies because they will still be rookies at trying to figure it out, where as the experienced drivers know what types of changes to make.

I think it will help the 2nd groove Need very big SPEED BUMPS in the coners so drivers can use the 2nd groove side by side racin would be grate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe the dromers can go left all the time????? Are they paving the 8 any ? lookin forward to seeing the new track are they opening the stands so ppeople can see with no payed addmess........... LOL Mr.03

Mrsh that wreck was in floyd county but from the people I talked to that is correct 2 unrestrained children
As for the repaving I think its awesome the track should be super fast next year I'm just curious how opening night will be its usually crazy now factor in the new racing surface and it should be wild!

If you go to Sportsdrome Online there are several photos showing the current progress. The X is being torn out. We even have photos showing the paving of the front parking lot. This is a MAJOR improvement project that has been in the planning phase for a few years and MG has put many many hours into it. Our only slightly negative discussion was surrounding the question of --- will everyone just start bitching and complaining before they take the time to get the details.....which is why I keep giving the details. lol Remember the poll we had last year at this time regarding paving the Track? MG took ALL your questions and concerns into consideration and did the research to get answers. He has hours, days, and months in this project and one thing I can promise you guys: It will be done right! |

Thanks for the effort on my rules suggestions. Even if you can only get 1 passed, that is still a step in the right direction. And i agree that the deserves a lot of credit for resurfacing the track. I think this will make for great racing once the second groove gets run in a little bit. Maybe they can do like Louisville did and have an open practice and set up cones around the track and have the drivers run the second groove only for a night. |
