8man79 you've got to be kidding me about the drome getting a scan tool, and if you think you can buy one for twenty bucks you're nutz, what you get for 20 dollars is a wheel chock CODE READER not a scan tool. See that's the problem , 90% of real mechanics can't use a scan tool for anything more then reading codes, you think you're going to hand a 8000 buck Modus to a drome worker and have them understand anything it's telling them? Might just as well hand it to a monkey. I make my living with a scanner and scope and I don't know if you can tell if the ecm has been reprogramed or not with one, if I can't how in hello is some guy with no experience at all going to tell anything with a code reader and a haynes manual? And if it's older then 96 and not OBD2 that 20 dollar pos won't tell you a thing cause it won't even plug into the aldl, assembly line data link. Fact is you can stand there and tell which ones have had the rev limiters disabled most of the time, they are the fast Hondas rippin way to many rpm. There is no magic box , using a scan tool is like playing a piano, some can make music with it and some just stare at it and bang the keys....there ain't no scanner men working at the drome so why not just buy them a piano to beat on. If youcan't cheat as well as the fast guys then ride around and enjoy the view. If you like I'll loan you a scanner to carry in the car, I bet they'll disqualify you thinking you have some magic red box of HP hooked up to your electron highway. They're still trying to figure out a vacume gauge, let's not upset the apple cart with technology.
