Charlie Hargraves For guys who claim they only want to grow the sport of Figure 8 Racing, making veiled "threats" to schedule over the *only* Outlaw Race at Sportsdrome next season because they refuse to name the race in your honor is not exactly a gesture of good will. The outlaws used to be a cool deal back in the day when I grew up watching them but nobody wants to watch a 12 car feature with 1 dominate car it gets boring not only for the fans but the drivers as well. I was truly contemplating running the IOFS winged fwd division in 2010 but now not really sure it would be in our best interest to drive 200 miles to race in a 20 lap feature with a series director that runs the organization with the My way or the Highway attitude. www.Code3Racing.net

Remove this ad It has been my impression that the IOFS has been looking for a reason to make MG the "bad guy" since the beginning of the season when he refused to name the race in their honor. I even received an email a couple of weeks ago stating: I have heard from a few people that Mike Gibson is very negitive on the IOFS Series, just curious has to why, and what he has been saying to prevent some Sportsdrome guys to run the series? The answer is NOTHIN! MG has always said - if the IOFS wants to make the Sportsdrome Race an IOFS point race then make it an IOFS point race. Unfortunately, the IOFS also wanted Sportsdrome to pay the purse, promote the event, and follow IOFS rules. So what exactly is in this for Sportsdrome other than alienating the Speedrome Cars? Furthermore, Sportsdrome Outlaw Drivers know MG has truly tried to stay neutral, however, with the recent comment "we'll have to schedule over you if you don't make it an IOFS Race" they are forcing his hand....and those of us who know how damn stubborn MG is also know that can be a major mistake. To be clear on the tire situation: MG's idea was (and always has been since the Outlaw Mid-Western race started) is there are many tires left over from the 3 Hour, used and new, and the economical thing to do is let the guys use the tires they didn't use at the 3 Hour OR get takeoff tires from one of the 37 cars who ran the 3 Hour. TIRE SALES: For those who claim they can't get the tire to run the race, Speedrome has agreed to sell tires from 10 am - 4 pm today through Friday. $100 each. Also if any of you have takeoffs available please post them on the For Sale page or email me and I will post them. mrshulio@insightbb.com
